This position reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for carrying out the Board's policies and directives. In accordance with the Club’s Mission, Vision and Core Values, the General Manager is ultimately responsible for executing all programs, services and activities, goals and objectives of the Club and helps ensure that strategic objectives and the Club’s Mission, Vision and Core Values are achieved.  On a daily basis he manages all clubhouse functions and the pro shop/starter operations, and will help ensure the synergism of all Club activities. The General Manager will prepare such special reports as may be requested by the Board and will report back on the effectiveness of the Club's policies, operations and programs. This position also works to ensure that members and visitors are happy and satisfied with the quality of service they are receiving.

 

The responsibilities include:
 

  • Safety, Health & Environment: Ensuring safety and health measures for the protection of all Club employees are carried out as required, and that environmental regulations are met.

 

  • Clubhouse/Pro Shop: ​Setting up and controlling the operation and maintenance of the Clubhouse, the Pro Shop/Cart storage areas and Starter facilities in line with all regulatory requirements.

 

  • Supervision​Developing operating policies and procedures, directing the work of the Pro Shop/Clubhouse areas and overseeing the direction of the Course related activities through the Course Superintendent.

 

  • Communications: ​Working cooperatively with other management to create an environment where all staff is involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, other staff, members, guests and the property.

 

  • Budgets/Financial: Working with the Course Superintendent , and liaising with the Board Treasurer to help ensure the planned financial activities that are included in a golf course operation are handled effectively and efficiently.

 

  • Personal Development: Staying abreast of current practices in golf club management.

This position reports to the General Manager and will be regarded as the expert in maintaining the golf course in an on-going manner from the standpoint of daily operations and how these operations coincide with use of the golf course by golfers. This role is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the golf course and associated equipment, including the assignment of seasonal employees to work duties associated with the maintenance of the golf course.

 

The responsibilities include:
 

  • Safety, Health & EnvironmentEnsuring safety and health measures for the protection of the course employees are carried out as required, and that environmental regulations are adhered to in the operation and maintenance of the course.

 

  • Course: ​Setting up and controlling turf grass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, personnel management, budget/forecasting, financial management, scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings, and compliance with regulatory issues.

 

  • Supervision: ​Developing operating policies and procedures and directing the work of the department.

 

  • Communications: Working cooperatively with other management to create an environment where all staff is involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, other staff, members, guests and the property.

 

  • Budgets/Financial: Working in cooperation with the General Manager to help ensure the planned activities that are included in a golf course operation are handled effectively and efficiently.

 

  • Personal Development: ​Staying abreast of current practices in the golf course operation and maintenance industry.

This position reports to the General Manager. It is responsible for the running of the Pro Shop including LGCC golf events and tournaments. It will coordinate all aspects of golf events to ensure the LGCC creates a memorable experience for our guests. Duties include supervising Pro Shop/Starter roles and coordinating LGCC golf events and outside tournament sales and bookings including running the day of event and follow up. This position is responsible for maintaining a healthy and safe work environment for its employees and our guests

 

The responsibilities include:
 

  • Safety, Health & Environment:  Ensuring safety and health measures for the protection of all the employees in his areas of responsibility are carried out as required, and that environmental regulations are met.

 

  • Golf Shop: Setting up and controlling the operation and maintenance of the Golf Shop, through the Golf Shop/Cart storage areas and Starter facilities in line with all regulatory requirements.

 

  • Supervision: Developing operating policies and procedures and directing the work of the department. 

 

  • Communications: Working cooperatively with other management to create an environment where all staff is involved and enthusiastic, with open communications and respect for themselves, other staff, members, guests and the property. 

 

  • Budgets/Financial: Working with the General Manager and the Course Superintendent to help ensure the planned activities that are included in a golf course operation are handled effectively and efficiently.

 

  • Personal Development: Staying abreast of current practices in golf club management and CPGA requirements.

 

  • Events: Coordinating LGCC golf events and outside tournament sales and bookings including running the day of event and follow up.

  • presides as Chair at all meetings of the members of the Club and the Board of Directors.

  • Is charged with the general management and supervision of the affairs and operations of the Club

  • In the event of a tie, he/she, as Chair, shall have the deciding vote in all matters pertaining to the Club’s business

  • Is charged with the responsibility to preserve order at all times

  • Is charged with performing all duties incidental to the office

  • shall be ex-officio a member of all committees

 

  • shall ensure that the books and records of the Club are kept in accordance with accepted accounting practices

  • shall apprise the Board on a monthly basis of the financial status of the Club, both short and long term

  • shall present a budget to the Board prior to the annual general meeting

  • shall be, with the President, custodian of and responsible for the safekeeping of all securities and valuable papers of the Club

  • shall deliver to his/her successor all money, books, papers and other property of the Club which he/she may possess

  • shall see that all accounts are paid as promptly as possible, and shall perform such other duties as may from time to time be determined by the Board of Directors

  • shall be ex-officio clerk of the Board of Directors.

  • shall be ex-officio a member of the Membership Committee

  • shall attend all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Club, and shall keep a proper record of all proceedings of such meetings in books kept especially for that purpose

  • shall have at every such meeting a proper minute and record book and other necessary books in his/her possession related to the business to be transacted at such meetings

  • shall perform such other duties as may from time to time be determined by the Board of Directors

  • shall ensure that an alphabetical list is kept of the names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of all persons who are members of the Club

  • shall ensure the minutes of all meetings are recorded and distributed to the Board as soon as practicable following any such meetings

  • shall ensure, following the approval of such minutes by the Board, or, in the case of the AGM meetings, following approval by the membership, such minutes shall be made available to the general membership

Chair persons

 

  • responsible for and co-ordinates all activities related to the Junior Program and Junior Tournaments including:

    • Junior Days, Junior/Parent Days, John Hause Memorial Tournament, Junior Club Championship, Junior Windup

    • Arranges and co-ordinates golf lessons for Juniors

    • Promotes and solicits support from members and others for the Junior Program

    • Co-ordinates all participation in outside Junior Tournaments

    • liaises with General Manager, Golf Coordinator and Course Superintendent as necessary
